pretty much as the title says really how do you get an aquarium plant to stay put without using lead?
 
its a secret.. i could tell you but then i`d have to kill you :p

ps, i always bury mine in the substrate.. or in between rocks, stones etc.. chances are you`ll be replanting several times a week cos theyve floated off tho :lol:
 
hi, for stem plants, if you take the leaves off the bottom inch or so, then you can bury that part and it shouldn't come out. you could also plant them at an angle. i assume that you mean stem plants, as plants such as crypts/swords generally have roots. also, if you float the plants at the top for a bit they will root, so you can plant them easier.

If you're having problems, leave them suspended for a week or two and the roots will grow quite considerably, then plant them in the substrate.
 
thanks guys i will be planting amazon swords and giant vallis which im pretty sure will come rooted already . havent decided on the foreground plants yet so i will see how they come if they are stems i will float them til they sprout roots.

well as youve told me if you must insist on killing me at least make it messy i wanna go out with a bang!!! im good thanks hun hows you? dunno if youve been in new world cichlids lately but big changes are coming in my tank soon .

cheers. yep hence the planting advice needed . im confident i can manage the fish no probs but im not exactly renowned for my aquatic green fingeredness :crazy:
