How Do You Pick Out Silicone?

I'm going to be building a cave for my rams soon and Iwant to know the names of some aquarium safe silicone and some traits it should have. I read on a cichlid forum that it shouldnt be mildew resistent, is this true?

but tbh I have used whatever I have to hand for years with no problems,,,, not for tank assembly though

You wont need a lot of silicone (certainly not a 310ml Cartridge) to build a cave so the LFS is your safest bet if your worried about which to choose. A medium tube of Geocel 78gm;Clear will suffice. If your constructing aquariums then Google HA6 this is what I've always used. It's used on marine gaskets so it's ultra strong.
