How Do You Hold Your P's?

I always chuck some de-shelled peas in the tank when we have sausage and mash, the fish love them!  But the peas soon get pushed around and invariably get stuck somewhere the fish can't reach them.
 
What's the best way to offer peas?  I've been thinking about looking for a long thin metal skewer to hold the peas in place while the fish nibble... how do you keep them from rolling around?

just squish the insides of cooked peas into the tank!

I always pick ones that are soft and either take the skin off or squish the flesh out. I break it up first and drop it in as mush and it usually disintegrates to smaller bits!

That's probably where I'm going wrong, I just give the peas a quick squish and drop them in
They always end up stuck somewhere and I end up finding decomposed peas weeks later
