As DaizeUK asked the question about peas, I thought I would follow the theme and ask about courgette slices.  How do you weight them down?

Plants I buy come with ceramic rings and I always save those for weighing stuff down.  I tie a string around that and whatever I want to weight down.

I use a fork or a spoon to hold it down, you can also get a thing called a screwcumber for feeding veggies

Teaspoon for me

It does mean that 99.99% of visitors to my house say, "why is there a teaspoon in your fish tank" though

Sounds like a euphemism

Most fish will have pick at it, but it's mostly for 'plecs' that need a lot of green stuff in their diet. It's also popular with shrimps and snails.

I use a suction cap. I just force the veg onto it so it penetrates the veg in order to hold it, and then I stick it anywhere I want.

i have a rock with elastic band and a length of string on so i can lower/remove easily.

only tried courgette once as fish were not too interested,i find a slightly un fresh cucumber gets fins up seal of approval everytime!!

I don't usually cook with courgettes but last week I made a ratatouille for the first time in years and my platies got their first taste of courgette, they went absolutely bonkers for it!  I foresee my family being subjected to ratatouille more often ;)

I'm thinking a long fork or skewer that hooks over the side of the tank would be ideal, I shall keep my eyes peeled for something suitable.

Come to think of it, I wonder if I could use my algae magnet to stick a fork to the side of the tank.  I never use it for cleaning algae so it has to be good for something!

Clever idea!

I use an old fake plant weight. I didn't like the plant so took it out, but the base fell off. It has a nifty little hole through the centre. Combine this with a plant tie (like what you use to tie plants to bamboo in your garden) wedged through the courgette/cumumber, and its not a problem :)

Make sure you get a sealed plant tie though, if you see any metal poking out the end of them, DON'T USE IT! makes fishies poorly :(
