How Do You Clean Algae?

How do you clean your fish tank to get rid of the algae if you don't have any algae eating fish? I've heard your not ment to fully empty your tank water and scrub down everything because it will get rid of the good bacteria. So what do you do to clean your tank?

i use thos floating mgnetic cleaner that you just slide along the glass and it gets rid of the algae

I thought of those for the glass but what about algae on ornament and stuff like that?

Are you talking about green spot algae?

If so i use a old credit card to scrape it off the glass.Equipment and ornaments in your case would bee cleaned by placing them in a Bleach solution and washing them with fresh water very very very good!After wash you can smell them and if they smell like bleach you did not wash well enouth.As soon as they smell clean it should be fine.This is what I do.BE VERY CAREFULL IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THIS!!

If it's on an ornament maybe a toothbrush would work?
