How Do You Catch A Fish?

This morning I saw something I have never seen the Loach do before, not this Loach anyway, he was stuck on the tank glass, I know they do this as my others do it all the time but I've never seen this one do it.
Then he did a few short bursts around the tank and behaved in the erratic manner of a Weather Loach, so I Googled again and I found a Golden Weather Loach so now I'm thinking this is what I have.
I stated earlier I thought it was a Dojo but now I'm thinking different, it seems to be sttling in OK, at first it did the usual hiding but now it's bobbing about all over the place, the other fish don't seem bothered by it.

Ooops! Just read they can also be called Dojo Loach so I was right first time. (I think)

Yes, dojo and weather loach are the same fish; Misgurnis anguillicaudatus (the very fist binomial I ever learnt off by heart  )

Which is why the fish should be called by their scientific name rather than the pet store moniker.........

Gosh yes, I do so agree! I love learning the proper names for all my fish :D So much more accurate then the useless 'butterfly cichlid' or 'striped loach' or whatever!

Think of all the available names for Gouramis..........Three Spot, Dwarf, Honey, Dwarf Honey, Blue, Powder Blue, Red, Flame, Gold, Sunset, etc. It's ridiculous if you think about it. I just wish it was easier to remember the scientific name as some are like long for little reason it seems.

Funny, I was just at the fish shop and was thinking this same thing. They had three with different names but I swear they looked just like the same exact fish!

I read somewhere not long ago a fish was named after a pop star, they just added a bit to it to make it sound Latin.
The young lady in the fish shop where I go knows all the names, she often talks about them using those long names then she smiles and says the common name knowing I haven't a clue which fish she is on about.
