Wazzup all,
I would love 2 breed convicts but cant seem to tell the difference between the sexes

Would a 300 L be ok for a tank breeding pair and when the fry get old enough sell em 2 my LFS without switchin the tank to a raising tank 4 the fry

Males tend to be larger with a more pronounced hump on their head also fins are more extended. Females have some orange/red coloration to the underside of their belly.


With a 300l tank you could have a breeding pair of Con's easily. You could even keep a breeding pair with something else in there. Although I must warn you that Con's get super aggressive once spawning and with fry protection. So anything you do keep with them must be able to look after itself. Also you may find it quite difficult to move the fry on, as Con's are the rabbits of the Cichlid World, and you could end up with far more than you know what to do with.

Are you serious? Sort out the problems you currently have before getting more fish.

The only problem now is the ****ing oscar im tryin to rehome him at the minute!!

i agree with riverdog my females have the orange on there belly and there dorsal fin and the males fins are quite long in contrast to the females
