i have a black juwel structured background on my fishtank. How can i train my java moss to grow up it, and give it a moss carpet type effect? :dunno:

Although you're not asking about riccia, I would think it'd be the same idea. Try the mesh idea outlined in this website.

http://www.petfrd.com/forum/articles.php?a...article&artid=8

However don't know if it'd work considering that the finished mesh will be placed vertically instead of horizontally, but yea, give it a try. Had the same idea as you some time ago, just never got around to actually doing it.And post some pics when you're done if possible, would love to see some.

Cheers for that cluttery drawer ive just sent an email to jason@nature-aquarium asking about the xmas moss. :flex:

I just read the stuff about the Christmas Moss with the mesh to cover the back of the tank, and i really like the idea. What i'm wondering about is the heater and filter inlet. Do i cover them, go behind them, or what?

hmmm, interesting one

I think if I was doing it I might make the mesh cover ALL the back of the tank but cut two holes for the heater suction cups to go through, then hopefully the moss would grow up to those holes. i wouldnt cover it cos that will stop the heat spreading out. I can't advise on what to do with the filter though cos I dunno what type of filter you have. mine isnt even on the back wall.

Ive had my reply email, and im gutted they dont send Ricca or Xmas moss to the UK. Any ideas?
