Hi, on my 60 litre tank I have a piece of dritftwood about 30cm long approximately and I am going to my local fish store to have a look around for fun tomorrow. I plan on getting a bit of moss to tie to the driftwood because at the moment it just looks a bit plain. I have wanted some live plants so I searched what live plants can grow on driftwood and all of the moss came up along with Anubis I think. but I prefer the look of moss to be honest. So, I will get some moss tomorrow and I plan to attatch it. There are a couple of things I want to know though, such as:
How much is it?
But mainly how do I attatch it? Can I just buy it in a pot, take it out of the pot and spongey stuff, take out the wood, put it on the wood and tie it with an elastic band?? Or do I need something special??

Thanks. And I will be using flourish liquid fertiliser, is that ok?

You can attach plants to wood by using fishing line or thread, will do the job. Once roots or attached to wood you then cut off the line or thread, after at least a couple months.

I don't use elastic band as think that may break down and disintegrate in tank eventually but fish may nibble on that and cause damage to themselves perhaps, unlikely but possible.

Or you can superglue the plant to wood, i have done this myself, makes a neater job of things. As long as glue is 100% cyanoacrylate, thats safe to use in fish tank.

Liquid ferts are good for plants, so yeah, thats worth getting.

I have the best luck with fishing line. Doesn't break and doesn't show, so it's a win-win. I actually might try the superglue thing with my next tank. Sounds simple enough!

Does moss on mesh attach itself to the mesh?  And does it grow better once attached?

I have an idea for...drum roll... pebble-shaped-double-layered-plastic-mesh (IF I can shape them) but if the moss would be unhappy held between plastic mesh then the idea is kaput! I really need it to be happy to grow there.

Moss will attach to just about anything once it starts growing on it.

I take the fishing line off once its growing on wood or rocks after a few months.

Mesh is widely used and is perfect for aquascaping for many.

No idea about double layered mesh though, as never have tried that before, give it a try and see if it works :)

I certainly will try. I'm hopeful my heat gun will work after a good time drying out - from forgetting I had it in the backk garden and leaving it out all night in the rain!

Mosses look fab. Now when I look at trees in the distance, their different shapes, structure and colour ...I see mossses!
