How Do I Remove Silicone From My Tank Glass?

Use a razor if it is along joints - scraping it off is the only real option. You can't use chemicals in a tank...

Its on the main glass of the tank the front and back walls

so i just use a razor?

Razor is best option, I used it and it does a good job, but takes time

It's easily removed. Simply use a NEW stanley-type blade. If you try a used one, you won't succeed, it needs to be a new blade.

If your going to have to use any force, perhaps using a pair of vice grips or similar grabbing tool to hold the razor so you don't accidently cut your hand if it slips.

Make sure you push the blade away from you too and not toward you because if it slips you could be in a world of hurt :X

Try the decorating section of a diy shop. Look for the paint scrapers which hold stanley knife blades. They are designed to scrape paint off window panes, when you slip while painting the frames, so are ideal for your purpose.

They're just molded plastic, but they make using a blade MUCH safer.

We use the same style scrapers at the pet store I work at to clean our tanks. They work really well when trying to scrape any excess silicon that sometimes splashes across the glass when they are sealing tanks. Its also great when trying to get calcium build up off the glass.
