So i've got around 100-150 baby leopard danios in my breeding tank which was homemade by me & has a wool spawning mop & wool grid in the bottom so the adults couldn't get to the babys.
now the danio fry are about 5 days old and the water quality is terrible! the wool has started to disintergrate and weird slime cobwebs are forming o_O as well as left over food build up on the sides of the tank (i need a sponge filter)

so my question is, how can i move them into a new, cleaner tank? i've heard they can be sucked up with a section of air pipe but i dont want to harm or kill any of them,

if someone could take the time to answer this post, it would be really apprieciated :)

If you want to move them just because it's dirty, it'll only happen to the next tank too. First priority would be get a filter, do daily changes, test water every day, Especially ammonia and nitrite, if you get a Reading of either, do a water change to suit.

Secondly you've got stuff forming from uneaten food? Most food packaging actually states that you should remove excess food after the fish have stopped eating. So gravel vac is a good idea.

I can't really help with how to move them I'm afraid, but what I've said is still an idea.

as said get a sponge filter asap real cheap on ebay

Fortunately for me last weekend, I only had to move 6 5-week old Pearl Danio fry and ~6 2-day old fry, probably Pearls...

I syphoned some of the tank water into the ice-cream sized Dennerle Deponitmix tub and placed the breeding net into it, on its side so the fry could escape. Once the net was empty, I then turned it inside out and rinsed it under the tap. The fry were then transferred to another small tub contianing new conditioned water, before being caught very patiently in a net to put them back into the clean breeder net (now in a water changed tank.

Lot easier than it sounds, as long as you have patience...

However, you have considerably more patients than me me to deal with!!!!
