IMO there is no way that will safely get you out of regular maintenance. It's what you take on when you get a tank. People who buy a dog don't usually ask how they can get it do its business less frequently so they don't have to take it for walks every day. The equivalent maintenance needed for fish is:
i) preparing the tank carefully when you start it up (aka cycling, see links)
ii) weekly water changes replacing c. 20% with fresh dechlorinated water of the same temperature, and doing any algae scraping, plant trimming etc as required.
