i bought 3 dalmation molly's from a pet store and there are 2 females and a male.
i was told that one of the females was prego when i bought her.
they told me that she should be having the fry within a couple weeks and its been like 3.
so how do i know if she really is prego and if she is how do i know when is she going to have them??

There is a very good chance they are both `prego` livebearing females normally are. they grow very large in the belly area and get a black spot near the Anus (gravid spot) they can also store the male sperm for several more pregnancies. they will have fry around every month but your other fish may predate on them

well only one of them has belly but not that much. the one that i was told that was pregnant is all black so i can't really tell and the other female is white with black spots everywhere already.

do you have other fish in the tank, if so provide a lot of cover in the way of floating plants or valis trailing along the surfice and you will probally see a few babies within a month ps the dark gravid patch will be noticable on the dalmation you wont see it on your BLACK molly which is what i `ve always called them but you will notice how large she gets

Lots of mollies gravid spots can be hard to see due to thier colour and scales thickness.

Best to go by size, once her belly drops at back and front so there is a clear \___/ flat line (known as squared off) this when they are not far off due.

Also looking from above you will notice a ball like shape to her belly ()

Gravid spots is not a clear indication and can be misleading, pregnant fish can have no dark gravid spot and non pregnant ones can have a dark spot.

Good luck :)

thanks now i looked at them today and they have ick too...
i think it is something in the air in my house cuz we are all getting sick too. so we are moving them to my boyfriends house to see how it goes.
i also got some drops to put in the tank to take it way.
and the molly's also keep going down in the corner on the bottom of the tank and shaking on the rocks. why is it that they are doing that??
