there are a few things you can do to get rid of it for now, but until you figure out the cause of it, it will only come back.

can you give some us some stats on your tank? size, light, are you fertalizing, water stats?

pH is 6.6
CO2 is at 35ppm
amonia at 0
Nitrite at 0
nitrate at 30ppm

Im dosing Flourish nitrogen, potassium, trace, Iron, phosphate.
I have 130watts. its a 29 gallon tank.
i have java ferns, anubias bartari, A LOT of riccia, glosstigma, and Amazon Swords.

130 watts over a 29G is a lot of light! What's the kelvin rating of the bulbs, and how long has this tank been set up? I noticed a lack of stem plants, or other fast growing plants. Maybe that is the problem here?

I read somewhere on this forum that upping CO2 will help get rid of hair algae, but since yours is already at 35ppm, I really don't know what to say, other than it must be a nutrient imbalance.

HTH.

I was thinking the same thing Disco. That is upwards of 4.5wpg! Are you adding no3 or po4 to the tank regularily? With that much light and co2 you need lots of ferts. And yeah. Stems would help out too. some Hygro, Ludwiga, cabomba or bacopa species would help out.

Can you test the phosphates in the water? Those of us doing the EI method of dosing ferts try to keep a ratio of 10:1 nitrates to phosphates, so you would need 3ppm of phosphates in the tank.,
