I have been fighting with algae in my 65 gallon tank for months now, I have covered it, changed the water a couple times and nothing seems to work. It stays nice for a couple days then the water turns completely green... I have 8 goldfish and 3 algae eaters in it. PLEASE HELP... VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!

Does your tank get exposed to sunlight much?
What temp is tank running at?
What Wattage and light spectrum of bulb do you have fitted?
How long are your lights on for?
Are you gravel vaccing and water changing 20 - 25% of your water weekly?

All of these factors can contribute to your algae problem.

Another more pressing problem is that you are almost certainly over stocked. Goldfish require about 20gal for the 1st fish and 10gal for each additional one as they produce a lot of waste for their size. So that's a 90 gallon tank needed for just your goldfish. Depending upon what you algae eater species is you will need extra room for them as well.

I would say that your algae problems are most likely due to being overstocked. Until you deal with that the problem almost certainly wont go away.

Sorry :/
