I just bought three cherry barbs yesterday and they are so tiny and cute  . When I bought them I bought a container of flake food too. This moring I fed them and the flakes are like the same size as them. They took one little nip out of it with their little mouths and then the food sunk to the bottom. I stayed around for about 10 minutes and then I had to go somewhere and couldn't watch and see if they would eat it from the bottom of the tank. Anyway what should do?

GREEEEEEENNN ARRRRMMMYYYYY!!!

i buy from maidenhead aquatics up at eggbuckland garden centre.

finely crush the flakes. you may be able to by like fry bites also. i am not sure how small they are, but if a flake is the size of them then they could eat fry food i bet. :good:

could you get us some pics? i love seeing peoples fish

I'll post a picture later when I get home (around 5) so come back and see them. They're not that young, they were old enough to be sold but I also saw some adults at another store and they were about 3 times my fishes size.

For some odd reason my camera wanted to act up today so the picture below is the most desent one I could get.

Female on top, male sandwiched between, other female on bottom.

Ask your local fish / pet shop about fry food. It's a liquid suitable (to my knowledge) for any baby fish.

I'd be careful using liquid fry food; if you're adding it to a community tank, it could get polluted very quickly. Tetra make a crushed powdered food for fry and it's worth it's weight in gold. I used it when I had Guppies and Swordtails and they absolutely thrived on it. Should be able to get it anywhere.

I feed my fry crushed up shrimp pellets. I just crush them with the lid until powder fine and sprinkle in.

But I notice fry pick at algae and stuff too, mine dont seem to go hungry.
