How Do I Clean My Glass From This Gunk?

I can't put a black background up because it shows really well. I tried rubbing it with vinegar but it doesn't come off. I don't think it's from inside the tank.

Hi. If you have rubbed down the outside of the tank, that is almost cirtainly a type of algae. Get a sponge, and wipe the inside of the glass with it (needs to be a new sponge). This should remove the gunk.

I actually think it might be a chemical. But yeah. Maybe a windex streak?

Looks oily to me... try some isopropyl alcohol (monitor spray or glasses wipes, if you cant get the real thing)

I had loads of that sort of mark when I bought my tank new from the fish, most of mine was on my bottom piece so gravel covered, but some of the marks on the side actually disappeared (werent visible) when I filled it with water.

Is the Tank empty and your just setting it up?

It's full, and the mark is from the other side.

They exist but I've read they get dirty quick and are a pain. You could do a rock wall or something.

I have a fake rock background. im wanting it to get dirty..... dirtier the better for looks.
