I got a trio of black mollies for my wife and I think I may have gotten a pregnant one. her tummy is bigger than the other ones and it is really more square in the tummy than the other one.

if it's a light colored molly there's usually a gravid spot, but on dark mollies like blackies, I think that if you watch them enough that after a few pregnancys you will be able to tell when they are about to give birth. ;)

if they are balloon mollies you're gonna have a horrible time tryin to figure out if they are pregnant....but if they are pretty skinny now, you will def. see a difference once they are pregnant.

more likely than not the larger female is pregnant. since many mollies spend time in tanks with males it is unlikely that she is not pregnant. even if she gives birth, all live bearers can store sperm for up to six months. meaning that she can re-fertilize several broods of fry with no exposure to a male. if she lasts for more than six weeks without giving birth you might just have a fat molly.

good luck! if you intend to keep the fry i consider doing research about diet and care of them.

From past experience, I have been forced to learn to completely ignore the 'similar topics' section.
