How Can I Weight Hc Down ?

We are both in the same boat. Waiting for lights so we can plant some HC.

The ferts I use are PMDD dry fertilisers for my EI regime in my 120l. it is the cheapest option in the long term. What is the spec of your tank?

Dave.

Thanks Dave, they told me it will be available in next week. And i also ordered some tubes which will comes this week.

wot is PMDD? do you have a link? i only used those kinda fertilise which buried under gravel b4. As for spec, i have not got
testkit for it. will order one for EI later.

Currently the plants struggle, although i dose carbon, with a small light, and there are only some endler fry in the bucket with them, nitrate is too low, i guess thate is why i have some bule green algea.

Hope everything will be fine in 2 weeks.

I asked for your tank spec as in specification. I am just a bit concerned that you are adding a lot of light ie >2WPG without having CO2, a fertiliser regime and sufficient plants in place to avoid problems with algae.

Ive got HC growing in amongst my riccia, must have got caught in there when I pruned it.

I bought some HC from aquatic magic about two weeks ago and despite it spending 7 days in a box (came from singapore) it arrived in fantastic condition. I was expecting some die off but it was completely minimal, much less than I expected. Couldnt recommend that place more. Ive had a bit of trouble setting up my pressurised CO2 system but Mike, the guy who runs aquaticmagic has been more than helpful, taking time to properly respond to every e-mail Ive sent him.

Ive not had any problem planting the HC either. I seperated it all into small lots a couple of centimetres across and just dug it a few millimetres into the substrate. Not had any problems with it floating, even when I accidentally dislodge some when doing maintenance. Only problem is that its growing up the way so far which Im concluded is a CO2 issue as Im still using a temporary yeast system. Watch this space.

Excellent, thanks for the info firethief, will certainly considered him in the future.

FYI if the HC is growing upwards, its a sign of a lack of light.

I did read some good feedback about him b4, that is why i ordered it. I ordered 6 different plants, from the envelop, i can tell it took 6 days for delivery. Most plants died, some even totally broken into brown piece once i put them in the water, HC actually is the best one, although about 30% of it died, most are still green, i think it can live without water for a while, that is why some ppl keep it emersed.

I took some pic for the plants and emailed him, he agreed to resend 4 of them. Actually i am happy with that, i think some of the plants might recover. Two weeks passed, 2 totally died, 3 recovered somehow, and 1 kinda moss no change at all, no idea it is dead or not. I got email from him said new plants were sent on this Monday, but only by air mail in order to save postage, still have not got it yet. Will keep your guys posted.
