Common names; Red flag cichlid, Red laetacara or Redbreast acara

Sex; Males have longer dorsal and anal fins flowing back to the tail fin. where as females are smaller and short ana and dorsal fins

thanks very much for your help. didnt realise they were actually a cichlid as was told in the shop they are a relative to the cichlids which makes them ok for community tanks as they are not pure cichlid if you understand what i am saying?? and also everything on that pis is exactly the same as my fish but mine dont seem to have red bellys can this be because they are in a new tank etc and getting used to new water conditions??

thanks.

Nope there a cichlid ;) and will be fine in your community tank. but could be a little aggressive. ave you ot a pair? or one? how big is yours, it could be a baby and not delovped ts red breast yet. it will settle in a get more colours soon.

well when i brought them it was recomended i got a pair so i did and they are perfectly fine with all the other fish i have.... on the first day in the tank the siamese fighter got a little aggresive towards them as they were checkin out his terrortories in the tank but get along perfectly fine now so its all good....and for size ther are about 50mm or 2" from nose to the end of there tail so would you say they are still young? how big are they likely to get when they are full grown??

yea, still young, wil do damage if anything trys to push them so keep an eye lol. they will gt nice colours soon.. and will reach about 3-4"

Any more info needed? just ask :)
