Hello, I have 2 mollies (black) I was wondering what there sleep patterns are because One of them is laying at the botom of the tank side ways, but its gills are stil moving and mouth a bit to. I'm not sure if this is normal or if there is something wrong with it please help me!

I now have decided that it has whitespots and I am going to treat it soon. So if anyone has anything to add to this topic please say something.

Not good if he's laying to one side at the bottom of the tank.
Whitespot looks like they have been sprinkled in salt.
Can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Fish don't neccessarily "sleep" like we do. At night they do slow down, but they should still be swimming normally. Anytime a fish is laying down on the bottom of the tank it's a pretty sure sign that something is seriously wrong with it. Unless it gets treatment soon, the outlook is not good unfortunately.

Can you describe the white spots? Are they fluffy? Or are they small and distinct? If they're small distinct white spots spread out over the body it's most likely Ich and you can get medication for it at any pet store.

When fish sleep, they simply swim in place. Occasionally, I've had guppies that sit at the bottom and wiggle while they're sleeping. Your fish isn't sleeping. :(

both my gouramis and guppies lay on the bottom at night. they're upright, but they're still on the bottom. then again, i think the gouramis think they're guppies.
