How Can I Tell How Many Watts My Lamp Can Hold?

I was looking into putting a new flourescent lights into my lamp (is it called a ballast?) but i'm not sure if it can handle that much wattage, is there a way to tell how much my lamp can handle? looking at putting in something around 55watts? I have a 55 gallon tank, any suggestions?

you cant put any size tube into the holders it has to be the same

if youve got a tube thats 15w you can only put 15w tubes back in.

if you want a 55w light you will have to buy a new lighting system or (more meassing about) change over the ballast to the correct size but not worth it imo
