How Can I Know When The Platies Are Pregnant?

in guppies it is easy to tell when they are pregnant but how can I tell that a female platy is pregnant and how many fry does it deliver every time? what kind of food should I feed and when to transfer the fry to the communtiy tank? Lots of questions heh? I am new to platies. thanks

I mean do they get gravid spots liek guppies or they just get fat

hi,
being able to see the gravid spot depends on the colour of the fish, its easy to see in a yellow or coral, but harder in orange and dark blue, they have fry roughly every 4 weeks like a guppy, the amount of fry could be 5-6 or 20+, mine have about 10 each month, put fry back in main tank when they are big enough not to be eaten,i feed my fry crushed up good flake and when older frozen brine shrimp.
