Hmm, are they coldwater fish?
My local fish store sells them as pond fish you see (I have no clue what they were called anymore =/ Plus the name was in dutch anyway)

They do indeed look absolutely gorgeous, but the thought of them being coldwater kinda put me off.

Those are some nice looking fish! I guess I never considered them as exotic aquarium fish because they live in almost every pond and lake in my area - the fishermen consider them throw-back panfish, but they do put up a nice fight. What are your tanks specs?

sunfish are awsome. i have one with my oscar. i caught him last summer. they get used to seeing the same person them they let you pet them

Very cool! I've always wanted sunnies, but I'm a crap fisherman. I used to catch them all the time when I was a kid though, using oatmeal and a large net.

Thanks guys! Well, i have 3 sunfish and 2 of which were caught by a friend who is a fish biologist and an expert fisherman.. B) The sunfish are in 30 gallon (long) right now but im planning to transfer them to my 55 gallon once I get the right 55 gallon stand. And yeah, i think they are called red ear sunfish, I dont know about the other names. I also noticed that the other sunfish which is hiding in the first pic (as always) has different scales compared to the two that you guys see on the pic. Both of these are more aggressive than the other one. Oh yea, the fish were caught in some lakes in Ontario. And, i guess they are cold blooded..I haven't really researched much about the sunfish.
