hi, i would just like to know how big a tank would i need to house the following as i may sret up a tank for them:

1 Arrowana (I dont know a correct name, but they are silver and another species is a kind of rusty red colour)
1 ghost knife fish
2 common plecs

if these are not suitable tankmats can you suggest some
thx.

Arowanas are a protected species but when you buy one it will already be chipped and you will recieve a certificate. This only applies to asians though I believe I could be wrong. You dont need to apply for a licence though when you purchase your fish you will recieve a certificate with it stating what it is and the microchip number.

if you live in the US then its not leagle to own a asian arowana

you can get a silver aro which will need a tank size of 84inch long x 36inch wide x 24inch deep as a min silver aros can grow to 4ft
you can get a black aro which will need a tank size of 72inch long x 30inch wide x 24inch deep as a min black aros can grow to about 3ft
you can get a jardini but they are so aggressive once they get to 12inch+ you wont be able to keep it with any tank mate

why does "norfolk" mean i can get a nice arrowana?well in my lfs i could get a nice rusty red arowana for £25, this must be an asian because the lfs has a bigger display tank with a bigger rust red arowana and they hav a certificate above

Lol if you can get an asian arowana for £25 I would be snapping there arm off as £250 wouldnt even buy you a 1.5 banjar in the shops and thats the lowest grade red.

what shop is it that has this rusty red aro i will give them a call whats their number

Is this what a "rusty red" arowana looks like ?
