I have some amanos in my main tank which I find fascinating to watch. I was wondering if there is a smaller shrimp that would be happy in a tank with a fair amount of water movement?

Or do shrimp really dislike water movement ? The tank is planted and is pretty mature now having been running since before xmas.
Any thoughts or suggestions ?

Also wondering if something like cherry shrimp would be compatible with Khuli loaches? Would the loaches attack them ?

My cherries seem to cope pretty well with the strong currents I have in my tanks. As long as there are "calmer" places for them to stop and pick food they are OK. Just make sure you cover up the filter intake so the smaller shrimps don't get sucked in.

No experience with the Khuli loaches I'm afraid

Shrimp will be fine with water movement so long as it's not strong enough to blow them around.

Kuhlis are fine with shrimp(and snails too) from what I've read.

Most shrimp in the hobby (with the exception of the new Sulawesi shrimp) are from rivers, not lakes. Because of this, they would be fine in a tank with swift currents. Some shrimp (fan shrimp in particular), are from hillstreams, and do best under tanks which mimic those conditions.
