Only going by a couple of sites, im looking at giving my One and only blood parrot cichlid some company, he is around 8in long now. I have what seems to be a 75g tank, its reasonably large.

I was thinking of the following combo of fish,,,

3x Tinfold Barb;
1x upside down catfish;
1x kribensis;
2x moonlight gouramis;
1x yoyo loach;
1x tri color shark and
1x prochilodus.

What do you think?

If not, as im sure there will be reasoning coming, which fish could I use?

Thanks peeps.

Chris

why one krib? them tinfoils are greedy mother hubbards and grow so fast i swear you can see it.

well i was thinking incase the tank was going to be too crowded thats why. Not the barbs then? well as long as they can help to contribute to cleaning the tank haha.

Also wanted another blood parrot because in this tank we had 2 others as well.

Where can i get the fish from too?

Thanks

Tri color sharks grow to 14 inches (or should, they are constantly stunted due to small tank sizes). They are very active fish and they school. I would recommend taking it out of your stocking.

Check your local fish store and if they don't have any, ask if they can get them. If not, try another. Or you could order online. The best place I've come across is liveaquaria.com. Very high diversity, although they don't have much stock right now. I think they'll get more after X-mas.

EDIT:: That's assuming your from the US. If not, I've heard Aquabid is pretty good.

hmm, so cross off the tri color sharks and the barbs, are there any suggestions i could have?

I actually like in London, UK

Can someone please move this maybe to the Cichlid section because it does not seem I am getting much response here.

We cant choose your fish for you. If you deceide what you want to keep and people will offer suggestions as to compatibility.

thats basically what im after, just some sort of advice of the compatibilty of the fish above, dont want to get them and they all kill each other, or worse my current fish which is very important to us.

Also if i ordered the above fish, can i or should i add the fish at once or seperately?

Thanks

It really depends on your blood parrot. Some BPs can be vicious sods with other fish, and you may have to reconsider and get some more feisty companions (convicts, other cichlids perhaps). I'm no expert on BPs but from what I've seen there is one thing a BP might get along with well.....another BP! Obviously ask in the Hybrid section about that (parrots dont come under the cichlid section as they're a man made hybrid).
