Just thought i'de post this on the forum, its a bit weird.......

I,ve 2 discus tanks side by side, a 100ltr/22gal and a 300ltr/66gal, the 300ltr temp is to high at 33'C and the 100ltr is as it should be 29'C.

At first i thought it was the hot weather as the temp whent up on both tanks, but now the 100ltr is back down to 29'C, but the 300ltr is still at 33'C.

I though it was the heat from equipment in the tank, as i had 2 filers, 3 * 38w tubes, 2 * 300w heaters and a uv steralizer running, so i took everything out bar the juwel filter, heater and lights to see how much diference it would make.

The answer was none at all, i,ve even tryed turning the heater down (it swiched off as i turned it down) still no joy, the only other thing i can think of is the heaters broke and stuck on one setting. :S

it does sound like the heater has gone wrong.
to cool your tank
leave the lid open, and lights off
or remove it fully.
fill a bottle half with water and freeze it, then float the bottle on the surface.
if you have a desk fan turn it on and aim it at either the front of the tank of the surface (with lid off)

HTH

If it was something to do with the ambient temp of the room would't the other tank have a high temp as well.

i.ve just swaped heaters see it that make a difrence.
