I wouldn't use normal superglue as it has cyanide in it. It is also why it isn't a good idea to use to cover wounds on your skin. The risk is low, but in my mind taking that risk is unnecessary.
So called 'aquarium' sealant is the same silicone sealant that can be found in most any hardware store. The one thing I like to look for is sealants without any fungicide or purfumes or similar in it. A lot of the sealants for bathroom use will put fungicide in it to deter mold growth. But, plain silicone sealant will be fine.
Lastly, I'd let it set for about 3 times as long as the bottle says before putting in the tank. If the sealant is liquid in any way, the tank water will get to it and wash it out -- so you want to be sure that it is fully set and solid before putting in the tank.
