I have a 30gal hospital/quarentine tank, i would really recommend one as well  . I have a lot of small fish in my main tank, mainly platys, guppys, danios, neon tetras and white clouds. The guppys and platys usually carry some sort of desease when i buy them so having a quarentine/hospital tank has really helped out treating sick fish and prevent desease outbreaks(everytime i see a sick fish i simply move it to the quarentine tank, and thankfully i've never had to deal with any big desease outbreaks in the main tank "fingers crossed").
The other thing is that my main tank is 125gals, and treating the whole tank with meds would be a very difficult costly process and put a large number of healthy fish at stress from the meds, so having a smaller quarentine/hospital tank has also really helped out in that sense. Any plants that need some TLC can be moved to te hospital tank plus any heavily pregnant fish etc as well  .

Where is the box for I-have-one-in-theory-but-how-do-you-resist-the-temptation-to-put-fish-in-it? I need more tanks!
But yes I do, in the sense that I am able to reshuffle if I need a hospital tank.

i do have a hospital tank, but guess whats in it right now- - -- -fry :hyper: ,
so i suppose i need another hospital tank ,and resist the temptation to put anything in it . .

i dont have a hospital tank but i do have a fry tank which i could use

I had one, for hospital/quarantine, then I quarantined endlers in it and it's now and endler tank :X

I do have a separate quarantine tank now, which will soon be empty again :shifty:

I also have an empty tank (kept in the shed, out of the way of tempation) about 70 litres and I always have extra filters matured in my main tanks that I can whip out at anytime and I have a couple of spare heaters, so anytime I need it, I can set it up in 10 mins or so.

They aren't essential, but if you do get a sick fish at least you don't have to treat your other fish for something that they don't have if you have a hospital tank, you can also use it as a quarantine tank when you get new fish, to help prevent introducing new disease with new fish in the first place.

also i put the idea accross to the missus and she said "three tanks would be too many" :/ i am yet to understand what she means
