pls help it just i'm not 100% sure
to keep a hospital keep runnin for my fish if they get ill
do i need to keep something like corries in it all
the time so they keep the tank cycling

I think some people say to do this and others say just add 3-4 drops of ammonia every once in a while...I keep 2-3 zebra danios in mine to keep it cycled...

I find it much easier to simply run an extra, smaller filter on the main tank (I use a sponge filter for the purpose), and leave the hospital tank empty - it's stored in a closet. If I need it, fill it up and transfer the filter over, and it's an instantly cycled tank. You can do the same by using media like filter floss from a larger filter, if you don't want the additional filter on your tank. Anti-bacterial meds kill off the bio-filter anyway.

THis is exactly what I do with my hospital tank, and I haven't had any problems with it in the past. I also tend to tranfer over a few tank orinments to increase the good bateria load.

keep a 9V battery on hand in case they slip into cardiac arrest...lol

I just threw in some food every once and a while for my 10 gallon quarantine. Then I clean it the day before I get a new fish or a sick fish.
