I started my tank up in nov and lost a few fish early this year. I thought it was ich which had me worried enough to be determined to always quarantine new fish.
I'm struggling to source the fish I'd like as replacements, but otherwise, I'd have bought something and had them in q.
Then I get home today to find one with possible fungal infection. What would I do if I'd got fish in q?
Ideally, 2 spare tanks, but who's got the space and luxury for that? So what do most people do?

Personally, I use plastic storage boxes as hospital/quarantine tanks, and I invested in an air pump that has two outlets, so I can run two sponge filters off it, if I ever needed to.

That makes it pretty cheap to keep on standby, although you do need a couple of spare heaters as well, of course.

I have a cheap plastic tank, with a few fake plants and a small internal filter and heater and a clip on led light.

Stored in garage if I ever need it (touch wood, hopefully, never).

The cheap plastic tank is one i got from a car boot sale, only £1.50 but does the job and pretty scratched plastic so I'll never be tempted to use this a display tank ;)

Thanks guys, looks like cheap and plastic is the way to go :)
