Horwort Turning White

Well i have had hornwort for awhile in a pond and yester day i put it in my tank and in the morning it grew like 2 inches and then the same the next day and every time it has grown it has become whiter and whiter.
I was wondering if it is bad if it is white?
Is it going white because its growing so fast?
Do i need to trim the top of and let it turn green?

You using seachem excel? That would do it.

Im not using seachem exel. The plants are slowly getting greener.

If they are going white, I feel there is a lack of iron in the system. So adding some to the tank would help.
