Hi just done a water change on one of my tank's ive a little terracota pot in the corner and when i lifted it out of the tank some sort of horrid thing was wriggling about on it , i put it into a test tube to get a closer look, it had 6 legs and the most ugliest thing ive ever seen, anyone any idea's what it was ?

its hard to tell withought a picture..

Its gone down the drain now but it was a light colour with a tail too just wondering if it was some sort of larvae from a fly or something as my tank's are housed in my cellar and i get a couple buzzing round me lights.

Oh Dear, Oh Dear,

You should never flush any live thing from your tanks down the drain. If it lives it might contaminate the environment and could out compete the local wildlife causing enormous problems in the long term.

yeah, if you wanted to kill it, make sure its dead before you flush.

Well, I don't know if it's the same as mine. But I only have tiny wiggly white worms. And they're annoying .

It was dead when i put it in the drain because i squashed it getting it into the glass tube :good: still an ugly looking thing though lol

Uh.. that's for our aquarium fish... not a bug..

I have no idea what it could've been, but since it had legs, probably just some water bug/larvae. I have no idea about those though but I'm sure someone who does can help ya better.

no its for non native life. Plants and some bugs are more common to survive the water treatment process. Plants can be just as if not more invasive than fish.
