I have just decided to get rid of all my hornwort plants, at first I had no problem with them. Recently they have been making such a mess everytime I do a water change and when the fish eat the algae off of them, anyone else find these plants a pain in the backside? :/

I've had other plants, simliar, that are very delicate and the Fish just eat and braked up easily. I avoid these now.

The only time that I have had problems with hornwort was when I tried it in my discus tank. With the high temps the plant disintegrated.
In my other tank with 75 degree water, I've never had a problem with it, unless growing incredibly fast is a problem.

Hi..I have it in my tank. Although it can break off and grow really quickly, I've been ok with it. I like how it grows up and floats on the surface....some of the fish like it for shelter and it has a nice willowy evergreen-like look to it. The big pain is having to constantly replace it in the gravel and cut it back. SH

I took all of mine out too. Nasty stuff and I have vowed to have NO MORE needle-y leaved plants. Only broadleaf for me.
