We just got some hornwort this weekend and I'm curious to know how to get more plants out of the ones I have?
Can you just snip off one of the stems and it will grow in to a new plant? Or do you have to snip off one of the parts that is growing it's own stems? If that makes any sense lol.
And lemme just say... I am thoroughly impressed with this plant! I was surprised by it's texture when I first took it out of the bag. I thought it was going to be soft like cabomba and the rest of those frilly leaf aquatic plants. Was very surprised to find out that it feels almost like pine needles.
And this plant is growing like crazy! We've had it for only 4 or 5 days (can't remember if we got it Sat or Sun heh).. and it's grown a ton.
The one stalk I put in to the 28 gal tank has already grown so much that the top has reached the water line. A good 5 inches.
The ones in my betta tank are also growing just as quickly. There are 2 that are growing alot more stems, but 1 grew over an inch overnight. Yesterday, it was just reaching the top of the water, I remember b/c I remember seeing the betta resting on top of it and thinking that it's going to be a nice plant for the bettas, now it has over an inch bent at the top of the water line.
Just insane!
Highly recommend this plant for newbie plant ppl, or ppl such as myself who do not have a green thumb when it comes to aquatic plants lol.
