Horizon 54 Litre Aquarium

Does anyone have a horizon 54 litre tank by aqua one? I'm considering getting one but I would like to know roughly what the filter is like (is it an internal one or is it a hang off the back one like the bigger one seems to be and does it have a full lid or does it just have a stupid bit of plastic which doesn't cover the whole surface?

We have one that is divided for two bettas. The lid is two sheets of glass on sliders. They are supposed to shut all the way but ours don't, which is annoying. The filter is OK - it's an internal and quite powerful, but not very fancy. We've customised the media and are running it in a 65 litre tank. The Horizon is currently running with a much more gentle filter for the bettas.

All in all - I like the tank but ours didn't get made that well, it seems! Well, the lid anyway. Still, I don't regret buying it and I imagin you wouldn't have the same problem with the lid.

I've seen a display one with one bit of lid and it's badly made which put me off; I guess I could ask to try it in the shop and have a look; I did ask and they checked the box and said it only came with one part of the lid. GRR.

I have one which I bought secondhand.The back piece of glass has quite a big cutout for the HOB filter which I intend to use for the pipes of an external.
I saw one on display recently though and the light has definitely changed design and it had no lid or cover at all.
One of the best looking tanks of that size around though Maybe keep an eye out on eBay? I see them quite a lot.

Well I bought one…it came with 2 lids (so a full cover)…however the base was broken. Took it back to a closer Pets at Home who said they sold their only one earlier that day as the person had returned a broken one! Typical.

Going back to the other pets at home after work as they definately had 2more in stock...whether they were broken or not as well remains a mystery!
