I have 1 male black molly and 2 females so im hoping for fry. Anyways, I have the minibow 2.5. Would this be good for fry? Im worried about the filter, its one of those mini Whisper filters, I wouldn't want any fry to get killed. Any ideas?

2.5 is okay for one or 2 litters of fry, the filter may be a problem. Most of the time fry are good at avoiding anything that sucks them up, but if the spaces between the intake valve is wide, you can wrap some fish netting around it(not too much so you dont block filtration) so you fill in the gaps more.

I use a 2.5 gallon tank as birthing/initial growout (until they're too big to get eaten) tank. You can also use nylon stockings to cover the intake of the filter.

i'm surprised you haven't heard about the stocking-filter trick yet!! Almost every different room has posted something about it at one time or another.

good luck, although i don't think you'l need it coz livebearer+water=babies
