I saw an ad in the paper for a 29 gallon tank with stand and "all accessories" for $100. I called about it on my lunch hour...

A nice older-sounding gentleman answered and apparently he has 28 tanks and is cutting back!! I asked if it was a wood or metal stand and he said he has several wood stands and wrought-iron ones, as well as a 29, a 30, and "some other" tanks for sale. He also said they come with heaters, filters, strip-lights, etc.

I'm planning to go over and check it out after work. I'm *so* excited. If I could get two tanks, that would be perfect because I wanted a 29 for the living room and a 29-40 for the home-office!

*EEP!!* I can barely wait till the end of the day!! Just had to share my news! ;) I'm actually kind of hoping I get a tour of his fishroom too. I'm guessing with 28 tanks he must have a really cool collection of fish!

Haha ya that would be great!

I'm planning to use one tank to upgrade my nano-reef from a 10 gallon to something bigger.

The other one will definately be a nice freshwater tank, definately with some new/different types of fish that I haven't kept before. I'm thinking maybe dwarf cichlids like rams. I've always been fond of those

LOL i went to someones house to buy a second hand heater and was their for over an hour tretaing his house like a zoo as he must have had about 20 tanks lol

good luck

Well I wound up with TWO tanks after all!

A 30 for my livingroom:

and a 29 for my home-office/spare bedroom:

The guy had about a dozen tanks -- one 40 gal, five or six 29's, a few 20 longs, a few 10's. It was nuts!! I was really tempted to get the 40 but it didn't have a stand and unfortunately I'm limited on space till I move to a bigger place anyway.

All and all I'm happy with my purchases -- $235 for everything. The 30 came with a HOB filter, heater, gravel, decoratie rocks, strip light, glass top, and wood stand. The 29 came with all the same stuff except an undergravel filter with air pump rather than the HOB.

I'm not keen on the weird colored gravel so I think I'm going in search of pool-filter sand tomorrow. I'm going to set up the 30 tomorrow morning hopefully :)

The 29 is going to have to wait -- the room I'm putting it in isn't ready yet, so it's temporarily in the hallway. Eventually I'm going to upgrade my 10-gallon nano reef and move it into this 29 though.

I'm already planning fish for the 30 though. I can't wait to get it cycling!!
