Hi guys,

Yesterday I was stressing out over my problems Yesterdays Problemsand you were all so helpful I thought I would give you an update.

The Black Molly's are now coming out for feeding and occasionally if everyone leaves the room they peek round the tank a little. Still very very shy but I think they are OK. :D :D

The baby guppies that have survived being eaten, (I think I have four at present). They are now 24 hours old and I am crossing my figures they are clever enoungh to hide in the many plants and outsmart the bigger fish. :grr:

As my tank has cycled but not fully matured I am expecting each time I get new fish that I might spike. Well as expected this morning my PH 7.8 Am 0 Nitrite 0.25 Nitrate 10, so i did a 25% water change. (Not easy with baby fish, had to sieve all the water I threw away incase i'd sucked up any babies :fun: )

Anyway came home this evening and tested the water again and readings were PH 7.8 Am 0 Nitrite (still) 0.25 Nitrate 10. So have done another 25% water change.

Hope I've done the right thing. I will test again in the morning. :/

Quick question, with the nitrites being up and the water changes i've done, should I or should I not feed my fish this evening. :(

What do you think ? :S

Sorry - repeating my question, should I feed my fish this evening. They come up to the top everytime i go near the tank. I know they are hungrey and had no food since this morning.

I find it so hard to get my head around the fact that it can be healthy to NOT feed fish. I need some reassurance. Feed or Not. ??? :dunno: :dunno:

I would usually reccomend not feeding them until the nitrite is 0(it's the fastest way to bring it down b/c your cutting your waste in half) but newborn fry have to eat. Infact they have to eat more often then their parents(4x a day) to gain nutrition for growth development. So keep feeding them but in smaller portions and keep doing your water changes.
