one of my 1" male dwarf platies just attempted to mate with my 3" adult male paradise fish. made genopodial contact and everything.



i haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. man, i wish i had the camera for that.

The funniest thing i ever saw one of my male platys do, was a while back i used to have a female betta who a particular male platy would often try to mate with and she would just sit there looking rather confused as to what to do- this went on for weeks and was certainly a horizon broadening experience to see

Live bearers are the only fish I know of that will mate in the bag on the way home from the fish store. Gotta take advantage of the cramped quarters, I guess. Poor, sex-crazed little things. I would hate to be a guppy female.

I have a lot of male guppies who are constantly trying to mate with each other it it so funny to watch.

Aw - don't make fun! My male swordie is totally lurved up with only one of the females - he more or less ignores the other. I wouldn't mind she's about five times the size of him, she's got a moustache and she's a real gomper! The other female is really pretty but he obviously likes 'em rough! Bless him for trying!
