Yay I have just got my DIY test kit! I feel like a scientist guru/geek!

Ammonia: zero (yay)
Nitrite: zero (hoorah)
PH: 7.4 (a little bit high still, buying dicus when I eventually drop it down)
Nitrate: zero (?)

I thought I was meant to have a little bit of a nitrate reading....what does it mean when it's zero? Although I did do this test after my water change....

Discus are very troublesome (Is that a word lol) and i would recomend getting a few angels first...trying them out and then movign on to discus. Since you just bought your first test kit I presume (Probably wrong) you havn't been keeping fish for such a long time no offence.

If you have then don't worry about anything i just wrote

I have kept fish for quite a while (mainly cichlids in the past, which have gone back and I set up a new aquarium) and ive read up ALOT, its just that Im always visiting my lfs EVERY weekend so I just always got them to do it (saw it as a cheaper alternative)
