I previously posted an item about the fact that 8 honeys have dissapeared, one at a time, but within an hour or two with no remains. Since xmas we have been through 8 but the common denominator has been a honey with one barb. He has never dissapeared and we are over a week since the other honeys have dissapeared (and we were getting through one a day) and one barb is still around and no other fish missing. We thought it may have been the pearls or plecs killing the honeys but cant be otherwise they would have eaten one barb - result, one barb must be a cannible!!!

Honey Gouramis are not Cannibals, i think you'll find your fish are dying and the bodies are being cleaned up by the plec and other fish.
There is no way one honey gourami could eat 8 others.
The only other possibility is that they jumped out of the tank.
Do you have water stats? :)

We have had one instance where a honey went missing within an hour and another in two hours - cant jump out of tank - roof, parameters fab, honeys eating and swimming with no signs of disease up until their disappearance, no bodies found in tank, filter removed and checked - no bones. Ammonia 0, nitrates 0, nitrites 0 - have heavily planted tank. |I dont actually think he ate them all but think he attacked them or harrassed them enough to cause death.
