Ok - sorry I can't post water stats at the minute as I'm at work and won't get the chance to do them until tonight...

My honey gourami seems to be drained of all it's colour, it also seems to be losing weight and not showing any interest in food. He's normally a bright orange nearly all over, but now the only real orange bits seem to be his face and underbelly.

It's behaviour has not changed in any way (other than the not eating). Any ideas on what could be happening? He's one of my favourite fish so would be devastated if I lost him.

Please advise! :/

Gouramis are prone to bacterial infections, if the fish is not flicking i would go with that, but sad to say once they stop eating, well as you know not a good sign, i would issolate the fish if you can, but not looking promising at all, sorry.

I'm disappointed - i checked my ammonia and Nitrite levels last night, ammonia was 0 but nitrites was quite high.

Any ideas on why this would be. I know I'm slightly overstocked but do regular water changes to combat any egative effects of this. I don't over feed - they get fed once a day and all food is normally gone within a minute.

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere I can isolate the fish and I'm worried as I'm off on holiday soon for 5 days so don't want to come back to a tank of dead fish! Any advise on that?

Well if you are overstocked theres your answer for the nitrite reading, another filters with being overstocked, i run two in all my tanks.
To be honest if the fish isn't eating its not going to make it.
