I have recently bought 3 honey gourami's. They have been in the tank about a week now and one of them, male I think, has developed dark/black markings under his eyes. Is this normal or is he sick?
I have tried to get a pic but every time I get the camera out he swims behind the plants. It seems he is like me, camera shy!
Is he a he or a she?

Thanks, I have no idea either! Hard to treat if you don't know where to start :(

No the scales are not damaged and the fish itself is behaving normally.
it is a planted tank with 1 Dwarf Neon Rainbow, 19 Green neon rasbora, 5 Amano Shrimps and 6 Red Cherry Shrimps. Nothing aggressive in the tank at all.

Thank you. This is exactly what it looks like. So you could say he is growing up and becoming a ladies man ;)
