Hi, first I'd like to thank everyone who helped me when my new fish were dying, since I cleaned out the tank and cloned the filter the fish have been very happy and no more have died.

I have two Honey Gourami and two Neon Tetra. The two Gourami are males and have a faint dark green/grey colour on the head and top of the body. I've looked at pictures of Honey Gourami when in mating season and the colourasion in my fish is completely different; no where near as dark and at the top rather than the underneath the body. I'm worried they may have a disease or be sick. Unfortunatly they were subjected to quite high levels of ammonia which killed off most of the tank, could that have caused the strange colour? Other than the strange colour they are acting fine and seem to be very healthy and eating normally.

If they're eating and acting ok and their faeces looks normal (not stringy), I wouldn't worry for now. Honeys aren't prone to the Iridovirus like Dwarf Gouramis. What size is the tank BTW?. The two Neons really need to be in a group of at least six and need a lot of swimming space.
