I have a very nice heavily planted tank with some angels in, i used to feed them flakes, although most small fish are fine with that, some angel occasionally have internal problem, after ask for some expert suggestion, i made some fish food by myself, the result is fantastic, the angel grow very fast and even the sick one become a beauty. However, the new problem comes, because the food was processed by the blender, although i did put gelatine in it, maybe not enough gelatine ?

Once i put the frozen food cube inside tank, it will soon become powder, make the water dirty and most food will be left in the tank. Soon the algea grow everywhere, i can not stop it.

So does the fish and plant are really contradict , i only can choose one? Or maybe someone could please give me some hint how to make the food more solid?

Many thanks

You put the frozen cube straight into the tank? I let mine thaw before spooning little bits in so as not to overfeed.

I know wot u mean, but no matter how small u cut the cube, it turn to powder once in the water, fish can not catch most of it, mostly end up in the water, while tank is heavily planted, even snail and shrimp can not clean all it up

I'm not using home-made food, by the way.. just frozen cubes of food which was once live :) so it doesnt turn to powder..

so , no one use home made fish food in the planted tank? there must be someone
