i am going on holiday on fri (YAY) and was wondering what is the best way to feed my betta whilst i am away, especialy if he eats his shrimpy tankmates
i can get someone to pop in nd feed him but i just wanna check the other options

i am guessing the shrimps will jus graze for algea unless i drop a waffer in b4 i go

It depends on how long you are going away for. If you are only going for a few days to a week then don't worry about it while you are gone. If you are going for a couple of weeks get a friend to pop in every few days and feed them. Measure out the food and put it into separate packages for each feed. Then get them to put one package of food into the tank each time they are there. This prevents excess food being dumped into the tank.

I probably wouldn't bother to feed him if you are only going for a week. Just give him a normal feed before you go an he should be fine while you're away. You can feed the fish more often leading up to the trip. This can help them put on a bit of weight before you go and that will also help. Just be careful not to overfeed them and pollute the tank.

You probably should give him a water change the day before you leave as well, just to reduce an ammonia / nitrate build up
