Hallo. I am trying to figure out how to feed my fish for a fortnight whist I'm away. I've heard mixed reviews about automatic feeders and as I have 3 tanks housing a variety of fish buying 3 feeders if I can't trust them is hardly going to be Value for money. Has anyone got any recommendations or tried & tested methods ??

get a trustable neighbour to feed them while ur away? just get them rounf for 10 mins n show em what to feed how much n how often.. best way IMO :)

Unfortunately the trustable neighbors just moved and we are taking our regular fish feedy persons away with us, this is our first time in 2 years needing another option ...

I may be wrong (but read on this forum), that fish will be fine without food for two weeks... I know i read it here somewhere a while ago, so if that helps....

I'd leave my fish max of one week, but I'm not sure what the longest proven time is. You should be able to hire someone like a pet nanny to come in every third day, or whatever your schedule is. Just divide up little baggies and have them feed them. Obviously, since nobody will be changing water, you'll want to feed them sparingly, but I wouldn't go 2 weeks with nothing. (Again, just my opinion).

They will need feeding in the 2 weeks period, there are a number of growing BNs that are currently ravenous so I'd be worried if they had nothing for that time

you can get 2 week feeding blocks, i used these and they were absoulutely fine, not a single fish dead.

Quite often, those feeding blocks are put together with plaster of paris.... not something you want dissolving in your tank.

get a feeding gel or something made by tetra, or just get yourself an automatic feeder. what kind of fish do you have? 2 weeks without food should be fine for most fish.
