Got this gal from the LFS on Friday and the guy told me that she was holding. I guess I do notice a slight pouch (when comparing her with the others), but my eyes may be playing tricks on me and I don't have any experience with mouthbrooders. Does she look like she's holding eggs in the early stages?

Also, they told me that if I had enough cover, some of the fry would make it. Is this true? If I decide to remove her until she spits them out, what size holding tank do I need? And, how long would I need to keep the fry in there until they are big enough to put in my tank or another tank with medium-sized/large ones? Also, is she some sort of lab hybrid?

She's definately holding, one way to be 100 percent if youre not sure is as simple as puttin food in the tank, she may seem interested but she wont eat the food if she's holding.
The size of a holding tank depends on the female's size theyre only in there for a couple of weeks so i i just use a 60 litre for biguns and medium cichlids are fine in a 30 litre.
